পটভূমি

পারিবারিক সম্মতিতে সম্বন্ধ করে রিচা (সানিয়া মালহোত্রা) ও দিবাকর (নিশান্ত দাহিয়া)-এর বিয়ে ঠিক হয়। দাম্পত্য জীবনের সূচনা হয় রিচার শ্বশুরমশাইয়ের অভিবাদন "अब आप हमारी बेटी हो (ab aap hamari beti ho )" দিয়ে। কিন্তু সময়ের অগ্রগতিতে রিচা বুঝতে পারে, এই কথার কোনো ভিত্তি নেই। কারণ এখানে পুত্রবধূ মানেই কেবল দায়িত্ব ও কর্তব্যের বোঝা বহন করা।

রিচা প্রতিনিয়ত পরিশ্রম করে, চেষ্টা করে মানিয়ে নিতে, তবু দিনের শেষে স্বীকৃতি বা ভালোবাসার বিন্দুমাত্র ছোঁয়া পায় না। শ্বশুরবাড়ির লোকেরা একে একে তার স্বাধীনতা কেড়ে নেয়—শাশুড়ি খাবার স্বাদ করা নিয়ে কটূক্তি করেন, শ্বশুর পুরনো সংস্কারের নামে রিচার অস্তিত্ব সংকুচিত করতে থাকেন, আর স্বামী ভালোবাসার বদলে কর্তৃত্ব ফলানোর লাইসেন্স হিসেবে বিয়ে নামক সম্পর্ককে ব্যবহার করতে উদ্যত হয়।

আরতি কাদাভ পরিচালিত "Mrs." শুধু পুরুষতান্ত্রিক সমাজের নগ্ন বাস্তবতাকে চিহ্নিত করেই থেমে থাকে না; এক্ষেত্রে নারী  স্বয়ং উল্লেখযোগ্য ভূমিকা পালন করেন। রিচার শাশুড়ির নিঃশব্দ আত্মসমর্পণ যেন প্রজন্ম থেকে প্রজন্মে নারীদের দাসত্বের মর্মান্তিক দলিল। একসময় যে নারী নিজেও শোষিত ছিলেন, তিনিই আবার পুত্রবধূর উপর একই নিপীড়ন চাপিয়ে দেন, যেন এটি একটি সামাজিক রীতি।

রিচার সংগ্রাম এখানেই শেষ হয় না। যখন সে নিজের মায়ের কাছে সাহায্যের হাত বাড়ায়, তখনও সে পায় শুধুই উপদেশ— " यह  सब  तोह  सीखना  होगा (Yeh sab toh sikhna hoga)," " एडजस्ट  करो (adjust karo)" "a small issue"। এই দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি সমাজের গভীরে প্রোথিত। Mrs. এমনই এক বাস্তব গল্প, যা বহু নারীকে নাড়া দেবে, ক্ষুব্ধ করবে, আবার আত্মপরিচয়ের প্রশ্নও তুলবে।

চরিত্রচিত্রণ

সানিয়া মালহোত্রা (রিচা)
একজন প্রতিভাবান নৃত্যশিল্পী থেকে দাসীবৎ গৃহবধূ হয়ে ওঠা রিচার যন্ত্রণা ও লড়াই অনবদ্যভাবে ফুটিয়ে তুলেছেন সানিয়া মালহোত্রা। সমাজের চাপিয়ে দেওয়া নিয়মের কাছে প্রতিদিন হারতে হারতে ক্লান্ত হয়ে পড়া অসংখ্য নারীর প্রতিনিধি যেন রিচা।

দিবাকরের চরিত্রে নিশান্ত দাহিয়া দক্ষতার সঙ্গে পুরুষতান্ত্রিক সমাজের গোঁড়ামি তুলে ধরেছেন। স্ত্রীর ভালোবাসার আকাঙ্ক্ষাকে অবহেলা করে তার উপর দাম্পত্যের একচ্ছত্র অধিকার ফলানোর প্রবণতা, সমাজের বহু পুরুষের মানসিকতাকেই স্পষ্ট করে তোলে।

কানওয়ালজিৎ সিং (রিচার শ্বশুরমশাই)
রিচার শ্বশুরের চরিত্রে কানওয়ালজিৎ সিং-এর অভিনয় হৃদয়বিদারক। আবেগপ্রবণতার আড়ালে কর্তৃত্বপরায়ণতা ও সংবেদনশূন্য আচরণের মাধ্যমে তিনি যে নিপীড়ন চালান, তা দর্শকদের অসহায় করে তুলবে।

 

পরিশেষে,

বলিষ্ঠ অভিনয় ও হৃদয়স্পর্শী কাহিনির মাধ্যমে "Mrs." কেবল সহানুভূতির আবেদন জানায় না, বরং আত্মদর্শনের পথ দেখায় । সমাজে পুরুষতন্ত্রের শিকর  এতটাই গভীরে প্রোথিত  যে, নারীরাও নিজেদের বন্দিত্বকেই শর্তহীন কর্তব্য হিসেবে মেনে নেয়।

মানুষ বোঝে ঠিকই তবে সময় থাকতে নয়,বড্ড দেরিতে। প্রথম দাম্পত্যের ন্যায় দ্বিতীয় ক্ষেত্রে আর   ফোলা রুটির দাবি নেই।  সব পেয়ে হারানোর পর মানুষ বোঝে নানাবিধ দাবির তুলনায় একজন মানুষের গুরুত্ব অমূল্য।

সমাজ নারীকে  "গিন্নিপনা"-র জন্য কোনো পুরস্কার দেয় না। নিখুঁত হওয়ার প্রতিযোগিতা বন্ধ করে আসুন নিজেকে ভালো রাখি, নিজের অস্তিত্বকে সম্মান করি। কারণ নিজেকে হারিয়ে ফেলে কোনো কিছুতেই বেশিদিন টিকে থাকা সম্ভব নয়।

পটভূমি

গল্পের সূচনা হয় ২০০ বছর আগে। মহেন্দ্র প্রতাপের ফুলসজ্জার রাতে তাঁর সর্পাঘাতে মৃত্যু হয়, আর সেই ঘটনার অভিশাপ যেন মুছে যায়নি।

সময়ের প্রবাহে ২০০ বছর পর মিত্র বাড়িতে নববধূ রাজলক্ষ্মী (সোলাঙ্কি রায়) প্রবেশ করেন। ঠাকুর দালানে প্রাচীন মনসা মায়ের পুজো ঘিরে পুরো পরিবার একত্রিত হয় নাগপঞ্চমীর পূজার জন্য। বাড়ির কর্তা, রক্ষণশীল ও পুরাতনপন্থী অবিনাশ মিত্র (শঙ্কর চক্রবর্তী) তাঁর দুই ভাই ও বোনের পরিবারের সঙ্গে একত্র হয়েছেন বাড়ির পুজো উপলক্ষে । কিন্তু ঠিক এই সময়েই ঘটে যায় একের পর এক রহস্যময় মৃত্যু - কুল পুরোহিত, অবিনাশের ভগ্নিপতি এবং তাঁর একমাত্র পুত্র অভি।

তাহলে কি এই হ মৃত্যুগুলির পেছনে সত্যিই অভিশাপ কাজ করছে? নাকি পরিবারের মধ্যেই লুকিয়ে আছে কালনাগিনী?

ভালো লাগার দিকগুলি

• চিরাচরিত ধারার বাইরে গিয়ে সৃজিত রায়ের গল্প ‘বিষহরি’ ৬ এপিসোডের মধ্যে সংক্ষিপ্ত আকারে সম্পন্ন  করা হয়েছে।
• কাহিনীর বুনন ছিল নিশ্ছিদ্র। থ্রিলার প্রেমী দর্শকদের ১২০ মিনিটের গল্পে ধরে রাখার মতো পর্যাপ্ত রসদ  রয়েছে।
• বহুরূপীদের ব্যবহার গ্রামের ঐতিহ্যবাহী পেশাকে সাইবার যুগে ফিরিয়ে আনার দারুণ প্রয়াস।

খারাপ লাগার দিকগুলি

• রোহান ও সোলাঙ্কির জুটি হিসেবে কিছুটা বেমানান লেগেছে। চরিত্র দুটির মধ্যে সংযোগের ঘাটতি স্পষ্ট ছিল।
• প্রতিটি এপিসোডের মধ্যে সম্পর্ক স্থাপনে ঘাটতি আছে।
• লোকগাথা ও আধুনিকতার সংমিশ্রণে ব্যাকগ্রাউন্ড মিউজিক আরও সূক্ষ্ম হতে পারত।

 After the Pushpanjali, the much-anticipated "Hathe Khori" ceremony will showcase little aspiring scholars dressed in resplendent yellow, holding their slates and pencils and beaming with hope as they start their journey into the world of knowledge and wisdom.

 Culinary Delights

No Bengali celebration is complete without food! And the Probashe Bagdebi Bandana will delight us with culinary offerings—khicuri (a savory rice and lentil dish), sabzi (vegetable labra), luchi (Puried bread), rayta (yogurt salad), chutney, payesh (rice pudding made with jaggery) and sweet. The familiar flavors bring back memories of laughter and gatherings, even though sadly, the beloved beguni (fried eggplant) and bunde (sweet) may be missing this year.

Now, with a fiberglass idol of Maa Saraswati, immersion is no longer required. Similar to Durga Puja in Probashe, this idol is carefully wrapped and stored for the next year, allowing us to preserve her presence until then.
